  • Bill

    Owner, Licensed Electrician - NC L.50031

    Bill Herndon has more than three decades of industrial maintenance experience. He hasworked with the US Postal Service, NCDOT’s Rail Division, and with electrical firms in North Carolina and Ohio. Beyond his electrical license and EPA-Refrigerant certifications, Bill has also held licenses for Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm, and Telecommunication Systems installation.

    Currently, Bill works for the US Postal Service maintaining industrial electrical, mechanical, heating, and air conditioning systems at a major facility with a 59-acre campus in Greensboro. Previously, he worked with the NCDOT-Rail Division handling special train operations, onboard food services, and station improvements from Charlotte to Rocky Mount.

    In our community, Bill was one of the founders and past presidents of the Triad Health Project. He served on the High Point Chamber of Commerce’s Transportation Committee, was a Director of the National Association of Railroad Passengers, and was instrumental in forming the Save the Depot Committee which saved and restored High Point’s Historic Train Station preparing it for eventual High Speed Rail service.

    In addition to mechanical aptitude, Bill is an accomplished musician having taught himself to play the piano at age 4. He studied organ performance with Dr. Robert E. Glasgow at the University of Michigan School of Music. Organist at Ascension Episcopal Church in Advance, he’s held positions at several area churches including Lexington’s Second Reformed UCC and Greensboro’s Congregational UCC. He shares his life today with five rescue dogs in a 1925 fixer-upper special in High Point's historic West End neighborhood.

  • Zak

    Head Technician, US Army Veteran

    Zak specializes in plumbing and carpentry. He is a graduate of Davie County High and Forsyth Tech CC. During and immediately after high school, he worked for a large Ford dealership where he obtained a Diesel Tech certification. He left Ford for a large class 1 railroad, where he became a FRA certified locomotive engineer working in the Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee.

    After an economic downturn, Zak left the rail industry and began working as a commercial plumber, doing major mechanical/plumbing installations and refits at area locations such as Baptist Hospital, Mose Cone Hospital and the Lowes headquarters in Concord. He specialized and obtained certifications in medical gas and reverse osmosis systems.

    Zak has stuck with plumbing the majority of his working career as it gave him an opportunity to help others and provide clean, efficient, reliable water service.
